Roof Renewals
Most homeowners don't check their roof regularly, and why would they? Out of sight and out of mind, however they become aware of a problem when it's too late and there's a leak, damaging the interior. A roof renewal may be necessary due to age, general wear and tear, storm damage or to modernise the look of your home. Here at JBS Home Improvements, roof renewals are consistently one of our most requested projects. Our team of roofers have a wealth of experience in completing roof renewals using a variety of different materials, tailored to our customers' personal preference or to remain in keeping with the building.
Once we start work, a scaffold will be erected and we'll start by removing the existing tiles, rotten roofing battens and perished roofing felt. We remove all rubbish as we work in our own flat bed tipper vans, avoiding the use of skips damaging your driveway, ensuring you can keep parking your car conveniently and helping to keep your home as clean and tidy as possible throughout. Once old tiles are removed, we'll remove all rusted nails and sharp edges to prevent piercing to your new felt. We will then re-felt and batten the roof area, using only the best quality materials on the market. We always use Cromar Vent 3 breathable roofing felt to ensure good ventilation, along with pressure treated, tanalised timber battens to prevent future deterioration. Battens will be spaced perfectly apart to accommodate the roofing tiles of your choice. We will also install dry ridge and dry valley systems to avoid the use of perishable materials such as sand and cement to avoid any future deterioration.
